An Honest Heart by Lyre-Lightholder An Honest Heart by Lyre-Lightholder
There is  no mountain that i can't climb for you had swim through the river of time.

Yep. That's it. I'm in love with my own drawing.

The movie is reaaally great but the book is to-ta-lly awesome !
And I had to order it from UK because it's no longer published in France :C (well, it's a good thing that I'm able to read in english)
Howl is kind of a mix between book!Howl and movie!Howl, and though I like him with black hair as much as I like him with blond hair, I chose blond for the color scheme. Not totally sure about Sophie's hair, though... But totally book!Sophie.

Beautiful and charming, how delicate and detailed! Your lineart and use of soft colors is magnificent and is a wonderful tribute to that lovely novel. It's so rare to find Sophie with her original hair color!

Speaking of which, have you noticed that many heroines typically seem to have red hair? Like Anne of Green Gables, Sophie, Ariel, Orihime, Sarah Phillips, etc. plus the mound of famous ginger leads who are male! I just find that funny how the artistic community always attempts to be creative by using that strain of genetics :giggle:

Yeah, that's right ! It does appear when artist are looking for originality.
But I'm a redhead myself so it doesn't bother me at all ;)

Ahah! Moi je l'ai trouvé dans une bibliothèque ! ^^
Les cheveux de Sophie sont parfaits, c'est exactement comme ça que je les imaginais en lisant le livre, j'adore ce dessin, définitivement :)

amazing art! I think Miyazaki did a good portrait of Howl and Sophie, but I definitely love them more in the book.

I definitely agree with Lyre!  The book is a lot better than the movie in my opinion.  I like book Sophie better too.  I think she has more spine and guts than you see in the movie.  I like the movie too though, don't get me wrong.

Anyway this is a gorgeous piece!  Well done indeed!
